His goal as a Councillor is to help create a more caring, positive, prosperous Rogerstone and Newport, where everyone has an opportunity to succeed and be proud of the community they live in.
Chris is always focused on delivering value for tax payers, creating a pro-jobs entrepreneurial ‘go getting’ economic climate, ensuring world-class schools and educational opportunities for every Newportonian, Chris is also really proud to have helped bring affordable homes to Rogerstone for hard working families, our children and grandchildren.
Chris started his own business from scratch with no inheritance or family wealth and is the co – founder of Newport’s VOICE magazine.
Chris has spent recent years reinvesting in the city he really loves, supporting education, small traders, local volunteers and community organisations. He passionately believes that ‘ideas matter’ and that ‘creative thinking’ is the key to future prosperity. He also has a reputation for ‘doing it differently’ and standing up for what he believes in.
Chris has demonstrated he isn’t afraid to ask difficult questions and as always puts Rogerstone and the neighbours he seeks represents first.
Chris is also a founding member of the non-political Newport enthusiasts group ‘Newport Rises’ which seeks to promote and support the positives of Newport.
Chris lives in a small cottage on Tregwillym Road, Rogerstone. He is the proud father of two girls – He loves driving his old Mini, going to gigs, and listening music of all sorts. He enjoys film, and American TV dramas, reading, meeting, listening and chatting to people, Chris also collects vinyl records and he jumps at every opportunity to spend time in what he calls ‘our glorious countryside’.
